LEGO X-Men- Wolverine vs Mystique

Description

Recently, I watched the first X-Men film again, probably the first time since 2008 (when I first watched the movies). Man, it felt good to see it again. The 2000 science-fiction adaptation of the Marvel Comics property is a action-cool and cheesy feature, or a fun film that reeks of the good ol early 2000s. Sure it feels like a set-up film, and may have some issues, but it is a good movie, nuff said. Plus, it helped launch film adaptations of Marvel superheroes into actual movies around the time, since the 80s and 90s films were…. Well, not doing well, not released, released on TV, or never left paper.

Anyway, during my early teen years, I made a series of stop-motion videos called “Lego X-Men: The Series”. You can find them on YouTube, but I’ll link to an episode www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bKYeD…. Anyway, I’d advise you NOT to watch the first season…. But, if you really want to. The show may kind of go on record here, since it was made three years before LEGO released “one” actual set (and mini-figures for that matter) based around the team.

I do kind of hope there are some sets in the future that have inspiration directly from the 20th Century Fox films (even though a set that came out this year may be a bit of promotion for “Days of Future Past”, which I have not seen yet as of me writing this now). One idea I have for a small $9:99/$11:99 set, would be the Inside the Statue-of-Liberty fight between Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) and Mystique (Rebecca Romijn), as exampled in this illustration. The reasons that may hold this back are #1 Mystique, as you know, is… is… eeeeerhhh…..  Although, sometimes LEGO can have hypocritical double-standards, so this may not be an impossibility. #2 any legal issues with FOX, and #3 maybe no one in the designer department has thought of this. Still, it would be nice to see as a set, along with other cool moments as sets.
