Description

After I drew the Movie/Film Avengers in August and the Ultimate team in September, some might think I would draw the Original members, New Avengers, or the animated Disney XD series ‘”Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’’.
But, I want to show appreciation for a much underrated 90s cartoon show that I have become a cult fan of. That is, The Avengers: United They Stand.
The Avengers in here are Hank/Ant-Man, Janet/Wasp, Hawkeye, Wonder Man, Scarlet Witch/Wanda, Tigra, Falcon (with Red Wing), and Vision.

I don’t remember how I found out about (except Wikipedia-ing on the Marvel Animated Universe-1992-2001, and that it was on Jetex/Toon Disney once) but I searched and watched the series on YouTube in late 2009 and I was hooked! I showed it to my brothers (when it was on DisneyXD) and they liked it. Sure, It is not as good as EMH and is sort of like those dumb Power Ranger shows, but it is a very enjoyable series.
I love all the episodes (Although I didn’t watch the Wanda/Vision story in ‘’The Sorceress's Apprentice’’)
There were 13 episodes in total of the series.
But what steels almost every show, is the building relationship between Falcon and Tigra. They are so wonderful, it’s like… it is like… Am I the only living creature in the universe who supports Falcon and… I mean, Faligra? (I even drew a fan art to honor this couple. It is not really that good, and I plan to do another drawing in the future, sometime). their best moments include episodes like ‘’To Rule Atlantis’’.

The other two series that ran alongside it in 1999 were fellow MAU program ‘’Spider-Man: Unlimited’’ and the alternate-universe ‘’Silver Surfer’’ show. ‘’UTS’’ was produced by Avi Arad of Marvel Entertainment and Roy Myrick.
Sadly, due to bankruptcy in Saban and Marvel, low viewer numbers, and largely Negative feedback-To the point where it is considered ‘’The WORST thing Marvel has EVER put out’’, the second season was canceled. On the other hand, TV.com was more positive toward the series with a 7.3/10 rating.

The next season would’ve involved Thor and Loki fighting each other in a two-parted episode.
The X-Men would have been guest starring (Wait, Hank Pym and hank McCoy, Hank and Hank!) it is interesting because in the last episode of the 1990s X-Men series, Magneto joins the X-Men, which would lead to father/daughter tension between him and Wanda (Which tied back to the X-Men episode ‘’Family Ties’’)
Wanda would’ve also discovered more of her power.
Hank was going to be radiated by gamma-radiation (after a fight with Egg Head) meaning that The Incredible Hulk/Bruce Banner was going to appear.
And maybe as I wished, more Faligra moments =D <3 (Aww!)
If you want to know more, then, go to Wiki or somewhere to discover the show’s production.

The cast (as I have already said) are… (a.k.a the West Coast Avengers)

Antman/Giant-Man/Henry ‘’Hank’’ Pym (Rod Wilson): He makes a great lead and leader. He is not too prideful or self-confident, and very pleasant to people. I don’t mean he is Mr. Nice soft guy who easily lets people off the hook (Like in ‘’Avengers Assemble- Part 1’’’ after Hawkeye messed up) He should be noted as a good husband (Unlike how he is in the Ultimate Avengers movies, or that one time I heard about in the comics) He also tries to deal common sense with his creation Ultron (while Iron man or someone else would’ve shot first and never asked questions)

Wasp/Janet Van Dyne Pym (Linda Ballantyne): This is a different version of Wasp. However, she is just as good as any other (She is the third best behind EMH Wasp and Giant-Girl from Marvel Adventures) She is a nice and unselfish wife, a grand co-leader, and is a likeable version of Wasp even if she isn’t as funny as EMH and GG.

Hawkeye/Clint Barton (Tony Daniels): I forgot which Hawkeye is was exposed to, but this one is probably the closest thing. (Well him, and the 90s Iron Man show… Wait, they’re the same Hawkeye, same universe, different voice-actors though) Clint is cool, amazing, very angry though, but has feelings. I like the bromance.. eh.. Friendship he has with Wonder Man (Friend-ship, NOT Gay-Ship! Eww!) As of September 2012, UTS is the only adaption that explains Hawkeye’s circus origin (With Swordsman, but not BarneyBarton) He is voiced by the same voice-actor who did Gambit in the 90s X-Men.

Wonder Man/Simon Williams (Hamish McEwan): You know Morph from X-Men, who was a tool killed off to show that XTAS was a SERIOUS show. Well, Simon is like that (Not the show that A: UTS is series, because there is no way that it will be featured in the Museum of Series Television) He is in the first two episodes, gets shot, and later captured by Ultron until he is freed and revived. He is nowhere being mean, and is very caring. Although I like his relationship with Wanda, Vision kind of destroys that vision.

Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff (Stavroula Logothettis): #1, I’ll forget the fact that she used witch-craft, and #2, she is a great and funny member of the show. She isn’t just nice and soft somehow, but ridiculously funny as well. And by funny, I mean ‘’Winds of Destiny Change!’’ got so annoying it is either laughable or materiel for an abridged series (which is still haven’t got around to making). I also admire her accent, which very well fits with the series. I must mention that all the Wandas I have seen (in TV Media) are all different from each other.
The Vision/doesn’t have another name (Ron Rubin): When he was with Ultron, he was cool. After trying to save Wonder Man by brain-transplanting his mind into the Vision’s body yet creating a new mind and Vision truing on Ultron because he is good now and not evil and this is becoming a loooooooooong run-on sentence, he gets cooler and funnier as the series progresses. I fell in love with the character because of this series. Rubin even does a spectacular job voicing him.

Tigra/Greer Grant Nelson (Lemo0re Zann): the voice-actress behind Rogue in the 90s X-Men returns to the MAU (Mau =D) to voice another classic heroine. Tigra here (thankfully) is not in a tiny bikini that reveals her whole body (One of the flaws in my Avengers One-Shot that features Reptil) but rather in much larger clothes (Do NOT even try to make any Fat jokes!). This Tiger-cat-girl is a fun character with a nice personality and a Hot Tail… (No that is not what I was going to, oh yes) and a love for life. if there is anything else I should mention, it is Faligra! I really enjoy watching Faligra moments in the series, to the put where it rivals other Marvel couples like Peter/Mary MJ Watson, Kurt and Kitty (Kurtty), Cap and Widow, ECT. Why hasn’t ANYBODY made an AMV yet? To date, this is Tigra’s only television appearance (Of course what I have wrote will probably be outdated)

Falcon/Samuel ‘’Sam’’ Wilson (Martin Roach): I first came across Falcon when I watched the teaser for ‘’The Super Hero Squad Show’’. Heck, that version of him will always be my favorite adaption of the character. In here, he is almost as cool. We first see him coming home with groceries. When his apartment is show by a transformer.. eh. Aah one of Ultron’s rebots, he calls upon his bird Red Wing and they travel to the action. After saying the President, his daughter and Tigra (Aww <; ) ) The Avengers ask him to join. He is, as for the series’ final episode, the only member or person who knows about Tigra’s fear of water!

Other honorable mentions are…

Ultron (John Stocker): He is so EVIL and scary! Actually, he is a great villain, and surprisingly hasn’t become an internet meme like Mama Luigi or M. Bison saying ‘’Yes! Yes!’’. In ‘’Shooting Stars’’ when Hank said ‘’Ultron likes to brag too much’’, he is not lying. One of the best aspects of Ultron is that he would (In his voice and tone) Talk and Talk about his Great powerful Evilness and his Plans to Rule the World! I also like how he thinks he is perfect and that he ‘’Created himseeeeeeeeeeeeelf’’. This version of Ultron could be #1 on the most underrated reimagined Marvel Bad Guys/Gals.

Edwin Jarvis (Graham Harley): Just like Batman and Robin have Alfred, the Avengers have their own Butler. Jarvis is a loyal and sarcastically funny (As in he is funny but mostly when he is sarcastic) butler who deserves as must credit as the other Super heroes and heroines have. This television series (along with the two ‘’Ultimate Avengers’’ films in 2006 and ‘’Marvel Ultimate Alliance’’) are the only non-comic appearances by Jarvis. Today, we have J.A.R.V.I.S. (JARVIS) who is a great IA (like H.O.M.E.R) but has taken away the awareness of Edwin (Like Stg. Nick Fury and Ultimate Nick Fury)

The other heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, and other villains and heroes are also great editions to the series.

Now I’ll talk about the artwork.
I started this on the last Tuesday or Wednesday in September. And I think I finished it on Friday or Saturday.
I personally wish I did better on it, mostly due to characters not being drawn fully accurate. If you are wondering about the sizes of people, Antman and Wasp are giants (Who are far away, and yes I know Wasp has her wings out). Simon is far in the air but closer than the love bugs, and Falcon and Red Wing are also far up in the air.
Bottom line is that it is a grand piece of art.
